I steam almost all my veggies in the microwave with great
success. I put them in any microwavable bowl, add a few
drops of water, cover the bowl, and nuke. My microwave is
low power without a lot of options and a good sized bowl of
broccoli for one takes about 2 minutes.
It takes a bit of trial and error at first--it's easy to
overcook them. I find I eat a lot more steamed veggies
this way. It's easy and quick with little cleanup.
