The raisin recipe looks wonderful, and reminds me of something
I do to make my hot cereals taste a little better. I drop a small
handful of dried raisins or cranberries into the cold water, bring
it to a boil, then add the cereal/oatmeal. By the time its done,
the raisins/cranberries are plump, and I end up adding less
sweetener to the cereal as well.
