Honey is on the no-no list of vegan diets because it comes from bees,
but maple syrup as far as I know IS okay on a vegan lifestyle.
If it isn't, I'll resign as a vegan! <G>
When not on the MWLP I use maple syrup as the sugar for my breads and,
of course, for pancakes and the like.
On the other hand, I have to take Dilantin and low-dose Baclofen which
are encased in gelatin capsules which would probably lose me my
designation as a pure vegan anyway.
Personally, I think it would be kind of sappy to say maple syrup isn't
vegan.
