Does anyone know of a ff or vlf way of making tostones (fried green
bananas)? Traditionally, they are peeled, cut into pieces, fried,
drained, smashed flat and then fried again. I attempted cooking them
in the microwave for 10 minutes to soften them , smashing them flat
and then baking them in the oven. They were alright, but seemed a bit
dry. I'm contemplating steaming them first, smashing and then baking
them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It's a dish that
both my husband and myself used to enjoy immensely. Thanks in
advance.
