The thing that really helped me to give up the meat frame of mind (and I
have to be honest that I still think that way sometimes, even after 5+
years veg*n) was to eat more ethically different meals. Meat, starch and
veggies seem odd without the meat, but rice, dal, veggies and raita seem
quite satisfying. Eventually, you start to get used to it.
On the other hand, sometimes I just want a meal of boca burgers and oven
"fries" on white bread rolls with catsup. Hard for an old dog to learn
new tricks. (Not that I'm old!)
