I read Barbara's reply to vegetarian restaurants in Boston. I never
heard of Small Planet restaurant on Boylston Street, what is it like?
I also want to try the one on High street, I just joined the Vegetarian
Society here and they have gatherings once a month usually at this
restaurant (the name escapes me). Its buffet style and inexpensive.
I recently went to a great restaurant in Jamaica Plane called Five
Seasons. I thought the food was wonderful, I was told they have Sunday
brunch, but haven't tried it yet.
For Asian style, there is Buddha's Delight, 2 locations: Chinatown and
Brookline. I have been to the one inBrookline. The food is very good.
they do use alot of Seitan made like beef or shrimp substitutes.
Although they were very tasty, I though them way too salty and I would
never order dishes like that again.
In Newton there is Sally Lings which has traditional Chinese with an
extensive vegetarian menu as well. I went to a banquet with the
Vegetrian Society and sample 20 different dishes. Quite interesting and
very good.
I also went to a Macrobiotic restaurant in Cambridge sorry can't
remember the name something like Maiso. Its a very small place and
pricey although very casual. the food was very very good although I
like finer dining, I find most vegetarian restaurants that I have are
very casual.
Hope this helps.
