Curried Lentil Soup
1 c. red lentils
5 c. water
3/4 c. chopped onions (1 medium)
2 carrots, grated
2-3 ts. curry powder (to taste)
salt and pepper to taste
3 cloves
Simmer lentils, water, onions, and curry powder about 45 minutes, stirring
occasionally to make sure the lentils aren?t sticking to the bottom of the
pan. Add grated carrots, cloves, salt, and pepper, and simmer 15-20
minutes. Remove the cloves and adjust the seasonings to taste.
(Note: I used McCormick?s curry powder--madras, hot).
