Fall apples are wonderful, aren't they? Here's a few more hints:
Apple butter (pick your recipe) is tremendously enhanced by the addition
of a *few drops* (don't get carried away before you have experience) of
cinammon oil. This very potent, essential oil can usually be purchased
(in tiny quantities) at a pharmacy (yes, sounds crazy but it works!).
It adds a flavor somewhat similar to the candy "red hots" (which could
be melted and used as a substitute, I bet). Please note that cinammon
oil is not actually *oil* - it's okay!
My favorite use of tart apples is eaten raw, sprinkled with ground
cinammon. Tastes sweet and tart together. Yummm.
