Keeping bananas from going bad

In answer to the question about keeping bananas from going bad so quickly,

I had the same problem, and now what I do is, before the banana is fully
ripe, 
when it is almost ripe, meaning before it turns speckled, I put them in a
brown
paper bag, and put them in the fridge, they last for about a week in the
fridge,
the skins might turn black, but the banana inside is fine to eat and it
does not
go bad in the fridge.  You can also peel them and freeze them if you wish
for 
later use. HTH.
