Lisa asked what to spread on bagels instead of promise...
Yogurt cheese (drain yogurt overnight in fridge)... make with
fruit yogurts for "fruit cream cheese" :-)
Fromage Blanc (it's like a cross between cottage cheese & soft
cream cheese). Very bland so I like it with a dab of pepper
jelly.
Jam/jelly and/or cottage cheese. Pepper jelly is good if you
don't want sweet jellies.
Fatfree cream cheese spreads... Trader Joe's carries Goldy's
(who also makes a nonFF version so check the labels), there is
a pepper spread and a garlic spread. You have to get used to
the texture :-) but I like the flavor.
