In northern California, the large supermarkets carry Kraft FREE sliced
sharp cheddar. It melts like it shoujd and adds "some" true cheese flavor
to a sandwich. It's also nice in a "bare-bones" au gratin over
cauliflower, broccoli, and veges yet to be determined. :=) Pricey at
about $4.29 plus per pound but frequently on sale.
Trader Joe's offers block FF Cheddar, Swiss, and pepper(Monterey) Jack at
$2.99 to $3.99 per pound. All three of these are acceptable at our house.
Unfortunately TJ's has dropped their line of grated FF in 3 or flavors.
