I really appreciate my vitamix 2hp motor....blender on steroids...noisy and
effective.
I use it for tofu cream once a week, and we make more fruit shakes than
vegetable "juices"....frozen blueberries/strawberries/bananas with sweetener,
yogurt/milk, B-12 yeast....it's thick and is eaten with spoon - my former Ben
and Jerr'y fanatic husband loves them.
I have used it to grind wheat berries into flour (ran out of flour), and to
grind flax seed.
My latest is green bean-potato salad dressing: 1/2 cuke, 4 cloves garlic, 1/2
cup wine vinegar, little sweetener, salt, pepper, and then italian or chinese
spices. Made this at my sister's house with regular blender - the cuke
didn't liquefy as well or as fast.
I've taken it to work to make pineapple/carrot/lemon drink on a hot day (3:00
p.m. break). If you can afford it, and you like to experiment, get it.
