RE: Asparagus

My grandmother used to prepare it steamed upright in an old Corning Ware
ceramic coffee percolator pot (it was white with the blue flower design)
with the guts removed. It always came out perfectly and was always very
flavorful! Maybe you could find one at a flea market or garage sale.

Can anyone offer some advice for buying, cleaning, & cooking
(in a low-fat
way of course!) asparagus? My mother never liked it and
never made it, so
I've never had it! I'm really anxious to try it but I have
no idea how to
make it or even where to begin. Thanks in advance!
