Whole Grain Bread (1 1/2 lb. loaf)

3 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup barley flour
1/4 cup quick oats
1/4 cup vital wheat gluten
1 tablespoon turbinado sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 2/3 cups water
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
Put first six ingredients into a bowl and stir until well mixed. (The
reason is that vital wheat gluten hardens into lumps if not mixed with
the flour.) Place the ingredients in your automatic bread maker and
bake according to the manufacturer's directions.
Tip:
Make several batches of the dry ingredients and place in a small
plastic bags. Freeze for use later. These mixes are good to take
with you when you visit someone with an automatic bread maker.
