My grandma used to make these for me when I was a kid. Ok, so that
was back in the 50's and 60's and she's been dead for nearly 10 years.
I still like these. If you can find any fatfree half 'n half to serve
with these, that's my favorite way to eat them.

Baked Apples

1 cooking apple
2 Tablespoons Grape Nuts per apple
2 Tablespoons sugar per apple
cinnamon
Wash apple(s) and core. Place right side up in a medium sized baking
dish. Alternately layer the sugar and Grape Nuts in the core of each
apple until the core is full to slightly overflowing. Sprinkle 2
teaspoons or so of water on each apple and a little on the bottom of
the baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon to taste. Bake at 350
degrees until apples are soft or for 45-50 minutes. Serve warm or
cold with fatfree half n half, if available.
