I was in the mood for creamed onions and remembered I made them with a ff
sauce from Butter Busters cookbook. I use this recipe whenever I want a
thick cream sauce. I really can't tell the difference and no one else was
the wiser at Thanksgiving. It is great for any creamed vegetable dish. I
was wondering how it would be if I tried to make maccroni and cheese with
it?? I'll try it next week and let you know how it comes out.
BASIC WHITE SAUCE
2 cups skim milk
3 TABS all-purpose flour
1 packet Butter Buds Mix (not diluted)
Fresh ground pepper to taste
Combine milk, flour, and Butter Buds in a small saucepan. Heat, stirring
constantly, until thickened. Season with pepper and salt. Use when you
need a cream sauce.
