Fatfree Bean Soup
This recipe couldn't be easier.
Take one can of "Old El Paso" fatfree refried beans (my favorite, but other
fatfree refried beans will work).
Empty the can, or a portion of the can, in a pan or bowl with a lid if you're
going to nuke it. Pour in an equal amount of water. Heat, stir, eat.
(Tastes like the old Campbell's Bean & Bacon soup I ate as a kid.)
Above can contains cooked beans (presumably pinto), water, salt, and onion
powder. A one-cup serving of soup, made as directed, contains 110 calories,
no fat, 6 grams fiber, and 6 grams protein. I find it to be quite filling
and satisfying. This is another one of those recipes where if you hide the
can, your family will think you worked hard on the meal ;-)
