list back on line. Since it's so cold outside ..here is something to
warm you up! It's modified a little from a McDougall cookbook.
Lentil Soup
1 cup lentils 1/3 cup barley
8 cups water 1 can (1 lb.) tomatoes
4 veg. bullion cubes(or not) 1/2 tsp. marjoram
1 onion chopped 1/2 tsp. thyme
2 stalks celery, chopped 1 tbsp. low-sodium tamari
2 carrots, chopped
Place all the ingredients on a large soup pot. Cover and cook over low
heat for about 1 hour. This soup is easy to reheat and it freezes well.
You can substitute brown rice for the barley if you wish.
