To Annice Grinberg: on the 17 you asked about black lentils. It sounds like
you have what is called ural dal. (I think that's how its spelled) They are
very similar to lentils ( and indeed may be in the same family) and are used
in Indian cooking. They come whole or split. If you like spicy, you can find
quite a few Indian recipes for dal. Or, just try using them as you would the
brown lentils.
