I don't mean to pick on you specifically, but I've been seeing this
misues of the term "vegan" a number of times. Most recently in a
radio commercial.
Just to clarify:
vegetarian: no meat, no fish, no chicken, no turkey. Maybe milk or eggs.
vegan: vegetarian plus no milk nor eggs and probably no honey.
It sounds funny to say "I'm not vegan so I will use chicken". What
you should say is "I'm not vegetarian so I will use chicken". or
"I'm not vegan, so I will use eggs".
While what you say is not wrong per se, it's just odd. It's sort of
like saying "I don't have a Ph.D, so I haven't gone to graduate
school". Yes, it is true that a PhD has gone to graduate school (and
that a vegan doesn't eat chicken), but it sounds odd.
In any case, this is a vegetarian list, so only vegetarian recipes (no
fish or chicken, etc) can be posted. Recipes need not be vegan but
they must be vegetarian.
