KOMBU

Sorry Sandy but what they are selling is not regular Japanese Kombu.  It
may be modified or processed in some way but the real stuff is hard and
thick and even after cooking for a while doesn't dissolve.  If the
sheets that you are buying are paper thin it sounds more like nori than
Kombu.  Nori is the thin black seaweed used to wrap some kinds of sushi.
