I moved back to the states from France last November, and in that time have
bought *many* electronic items and have had the rare opportunity of
comparing many user interfaces side by side. The winner:
Sharp Carousel Microwave!!
It tells me exactly what to do. It has buttons for everything I need and
nothing more. It has sensors for automatic cooking.
Yesterday I bought an unknown squash thing at the Berkeley Farmer's market.
I pierced it, put it in the microwave and hit "fresh veg hard" (I normally
like to do things in the oven, but was lazy). I don't know how long it
cooked, but it was incredibly delicious and perfectly done when the microwave
beeped at me.
It also has very friendly instructions for re-setting the clock. :-)
