To chop onions without tears, refrigerate them beforehand -- or store
them in the refrigerator. This minimizes the volatile oils.
Applesauce (sweetened or not, as you wish) is an excellent flavoring
for nonfat plain yogurt. I've also used a combination of mashed
banana and either blueberries or strawberries, depending on which is
in season.
