I just wanted to report my experience with Dixie Diner Club's Chicken(NOT!)
strips. After having read some of the posts about the strips smelling like dog
food and being hard and chewy, I was extra careful when preparing them for a
sweet and sour dish I made over the weekend. I have to say that during the
cooking of the strips, there was a distinct dog food smell for a short time.
That faded, and I left them sit for about ten minutes after the rehydration
process and then added them to my recipe. It was fabulous. The strips took on
the flavors in the dish and have the consistency of chicken - which is not why
I added them, I wanted the soy proteins - but they were very good nonetheless.
I will be ordering more of these.
