Blackstrap molasses has 3.6mg iron in one tablespoon - that's the same
amount as one-half cup of cooked lentils. (Lentils have the most iron of
any bean except for soybeans). I read somewhere - and I'm sorry I can't
remember where - that the iron in molasses is one of the most easily
absorbable forms of iron.
