I have made a small change in the rules for recipes for this list.
Recipes may no longer specify drops of flavored oils for this list.
This change was made for convenience sake only.
Previously, the rules for recipes for this list specified that there
were two exceptions to the prohibition on inclusion of pure oil in
recipes posted to this list. First, *drops* (not teaspoons or
tablespoons) of highly flavored oils (such as black sesame or chili
oil) were permitted. Second, recipes could specify the use of
vegetable oil sprays. Drops of flavored oils and proper use of
vegetable oil sprays adds negligible fat to a dish, hence the
exceptions.
However, I have found that folks remember the exception concerning
highly flavored oils, but forget that the rules specified that
measurements must be in the "drops" range, not teaspoons or
tablespoons. This confusion has been happening on relatively regular
basis and by more than one person, and among both long-time readers
and recent subscribers.
I would rather that the rules be simpler and easier to recall
correctly than to permit the small drops exception. Thus, I am
removing this exception. The exception for vegetable sprays still
exists.
