Not too instant buttermilk

Friends:
Many years ago we used to make our own buttermilk from
powdered milk.  I believe the recipe was on the powdered
milk box.  We mixed the milk as usual, and added a cup of
cultured buttermilk to it.  Then left it set on the 
counter until it clabbered.  Was not hard to do and it
tasted fine.  After the first round of making it, you
could use a cup of the resultant product to make more.
About the same as making yogurt at home.
