re: keep greens from going bad

I make sandwiches for my husband to take to work 5 days a week and have had
plenty of experience with lettuce (whole, unwashed). I find it keeps longer if
wrapped in paper towels and then put into a plastic bag  or kept in one of
those perforated green lettuce keeper bags (Evert Fresh). Just make sure to
get the largest bag you can, because romaine is big!
