Portobello Mushroom Steaks:
2 large portobello mushrooms, cleaned, stem cut off, and patted dry
1 T. ketchup 1/4 tsp. sugar (I omit this)
2 T. soy sauce
2 T. steaksauce (A-1 or something similar)
1 large garlic clove (pressed)
Combine all ingredients except mushroom caps in a ziplock bag. Add mushroom caps,
seal bag, and marinate for
30 minutes to an hour, turning the bag occasionally. Broil the mushrooms, turning
them once or twice, till tender
and starting to release liquid (about 10 minutes or so, depending on size), Serve
with pan juices on top.
